Light That Unravels Your Life

Light That Unravels Your Life

Hi Beautiful, I hope your week was joyful😊. I write from a brief moment of vulnerability. An emotional state when I don’t want to feel weak, but yet I do. Then, i’m left to process my thoughts. Being vulnerable is not a weakness. It is growth when rooted in love. For actions from the selfish fear of being vulnerable causes pain and hurt. Where is the love in that? The world calls out for true love and if we listen, we hear its wail. The true love of God, joy and grace in time of need. A Father that never gives up. The Light that unravels your life with perfect love. Which brings me to my very first experience of God’s presence. Although always been, I was blind and deaf to the truth. A hardened heart that seeked healing but turned to worldly pleasures.

A light of the world

On a previous blog, I wrote on how to unlearn old habits. Click here to read as it creates an insight on today’s writing. Prior to moving to the States, I was a freshman in college in Nigeria. I remember vividly the day I received an invitation from a friend in my dorm. To join a female christian study group, which of course I accepted. I’m thankful to her obedience and to God for always directing my path. Like I’ve said, I was born into religion and believed in God but was far from his truth. So, how do we live by truth? How can you encounter the light that unravels your life? By reading the bible and believing in the truth of the word of God. Remember that a hardened heart makes no room for love.

In the group, we read and shared our understanding of the word. The leader spoke with so much wisdom and discernment given only by the Holy Spirit. I continued to attend and tried to keep up with my study of the bible. I can’t recall when exactly, but I began to feel peace and ease within my soul. Some friends called out the changes in my life. And I simply said,” I’m happy, can’t help it” 😂. An overwhelming joy and light that cannot be hidden. Matthew 5:14, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” The word of God is life and whoever believes is free and not a slave to sin. I wish I could say more on that encounter but I can’t. Why? Because, a little yeast works its way through a batch of dough.

A parable of Hope

The day approached that I had to travel to USA for college as an international student. I was excited as my vision became reality and was filled with joy for my new journey. I was living my dreams, had peace I can’t explain, and all was perfect in my book. However, what I didn’t have in my new town was support and maturity in faith. Slowly, I drifted away from reading the bible. Lived waywardly as sin and influence cuts its way through my heart. Hmm… the power of a little yeast I tell you! Check out this blog, Parable of Yeast by AnnMarie. It highlights more teachings of yeast by Jesus from the bible. Now, here is another parable from Jesus. What can I say? The Son of Man loves parables 😁

A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. some on rocky places, where it did not have much soil and it sprang up quickly because the soil was shallow and when the sun came up, the plants were scorched and they withered since they had no root. others among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. still, others fell on good soil, which produced a crop- a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. Whoever has ears, let them hear.

Matthew 13: 3-9
A lost sheep and grace

A Lost Sheep….

The seed that fell on rocky ground, with no soil, spranged, scorched, and withered since there was no root, was I. And, it summarizes my first awareness of God’s presence in my life. I heard the word of God and received it with joy but I had no root so it was very much short lived. I’m telling you short lived as trouble came 😟 . Oh what I will give to have had a firm root. But, I write in praise for the love and glory of God that never fails. A shepherd that goes after a stray sheep and rejoices as it returns home. In his delightful presence, I proudly say Christ is my firm foundation. And in him I found peace that transcends all understanding. For the complete explanation of the parable, please read the rest of the chapter, Jesus explained it.

I don’t write to condemn, scold, or discourage you, but to bring you peace as I am a testimony of the truth. As you read, I ask that you open your heart to the word of truth. You can start by reading Matthew chapter 13. Baby step as there is no race to know all of God. No one can know all of him. However, if you desire freedom and life in its fullness, please open up your heart. The truth unravels your life and is a light that cannot be hidden. As you grow, find spiritual leaders who live by faith to guide you. Or better still you can join a bible study group. Also, i’m here for encouragement 😊. I pray for peace, joy, and abundance of heart in all you do 🙏🏾.
