A Better Friend
Hi Beautiful! As each week goes by, I look forward to blogging with you. If you are a new, remember to subscribe to my love letter 😊 . As I write, I share with truth and love. I know i’m a stranger to most of you, so I write in light of a friend. Though far away but close in mind and heart. Know that I require nothing much from you. All I want is an increase to your happiness. There is darkness all over the world. And i’ve seen instances where internal struggle differ from outward appearance. So please, send a message on the contact page if need be. It takes so much courage to open up, but it creates space for hope and healing to rise.
A Safe Healing Friendship
Healing is a journey, not a home run. Healing of the mind, body, and soul. Then, we can live each day in content amidst the uncertainties. Obviously, there are situations that are extremely difficult. However, how we cope determines the outcome. The will to live sustains you when you’re sick, but depression crushes courage and leaves you unable to cope (Proverbs 18:14). Hope in truth is not barren, as it yields fruit. And in a little willpower lies a greater strength yet to uncover. One thing I know is that faith keeps hope alive. So, I find no shame to believe in the true light of mankind. As the famous saying of socrates “I know one thing, that I know nothing.” I don’t have all the answers. Why? Because i’m not God. But, I look unto him and there is delight in growth on the truth that heals the soul.
Which brings me to friendship. Wait, i’m not talking about a best friend kind of relationship. Such is good on so many levels, but flawed. I am guilty of been a flawed friend. As much as I hated disappointment, I was one. I was harsh and unkind. I asked a close friend of mine on her thought of my actions. She said and I quote, “Hmmm. You used to be very rude.” She is right. I lived by moral self and was quick to respond aggressively. No matter who is right or wrong, there is no justification in hate. I’m still direct in approach but comes from a place of love rather than hate. Thanks to Jesus. Yes, him again! He deserves all the glory as he continues to redefine my perception of true friendship.
The perfect Friend
So, what is a perfect friendship? A perfect friendship is one that sacrifices in love. Whether you believe in God or not, there is a chance you’ve heard of John 3:16. A message of the sweet love of God for mankind. Whereby he sacrificed his only Son, Jesus. Let me tell you, I heard that verse so much since I was a child that it became a rhyme to my ears. Constant repeat, but deaf to the truth in the words. Truth not solely of a Father’s love but also of his kindness, forgiveness, mercy, compassion, patience, faithfulness, and grace. I can go on and on of his righteousness.
More in depth from Proverbs 18:16, “A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great.” Though applicable to man, It calls attention to the free gift of salvation. Jesus gave his life for mankind. But now seated at the right hand of the Father and his kingdom will have no end. Graciously, he also ushered us along into the presence of the Father. A presence filled with so much wonders. He aligns the mind, body, and refines the soul. One thing I can testify on, is that nothing compares to the presence of God in my life. Nothing! Unlimited access to overwhelming love that fills every part of my heart and more. God gave us free will to make our choices. I received in faith and is the best decision of my life.
More in Love
Also, a perfect friendship does not hold your past over you. Psalms 103:11 reminds us that “As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” One of the difficulties we have as humans is to forgive. Some might find it easy and not so much others. But God loves us just as we are and whatever shame we think we have is victory in his sight. He saves, justifies, santifies, as we grow in his love. The love that breaks all physical, mental, and emotional strongholds. Which brings peace, joy, and happiness. His word of truth is a sword that sharpens our mind and soul. Truth that defends against the schemes of the evil one. There is power in his word as proven in my life and I promise to share more on that as we journey.
One more note. I am loved just as the stranger next to me. So much room in his heart for us all. Some friendship don’t last forever, but the everlasting friend that is closer to heart than a brother is Jesus. He is the true definition of friendship and an example to follow. He loves your annoying boss and the crazy human that cuts you off on the freeway 😂. We are imperfect, but can live by love. God is love and the greatest that nurtures with love. In as much as there is light in the world there is darkness, but light overcomes darkness. I pray for kindness and peace in whatever you do and I encourage you to be a better friend in Christ Jesus! Amen.
