Finding Joy in the Now
Though a day is uncertain, it’s full of hope. An opportunity to live in complete awareness of “now”. Living life in the present. Embracing each moment as an interconnection with God. For various things fight for our attention. Distractions hinder us from the truth of our inmost being. The part within that yearns for peace, love, and happiness. Life from a place of rest. When unaware we look unto the world for comfort. A life centered on the next goal, next task, next experience and so on. A cycle that never ends, constantly chasing after the wind. Nonstop strive in hope to arrive to fullness of heart. Being diligent is one thing, losing our worth and sense of being for temporary things is another. It robs one of peace. Loss of sight on finding joy in the present.
Joy in Hard Times
It’s very possible to live each day with joy. Although not often said, it is a lifestyle. Everlasting oil of gladness that surrounds one at all times. Even during trials. For as long as we breathe, we will face hardship in this fallen world. However, in John 16:33 Jesus says “And everything i’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in me. For in this unbelieving world you will have trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world”. The reassurance of hope. Comfort in knowing that his promise preserves my life. Because, the word of God is eternal!
The word is our rock. Wherever you are in life, He is for you. It’s ok to express emotion when your heart is troubled. Jesus did too! But, don’t lay in it rather be quick to pray. For the peace of God is our strength. Each second in life is an opportunity to connect with God. In every high and every low, we get to experience the full measure of his joy when we rest in him. Peace that can never be removed! However, know that it requires your participation to trust and remain in him. Rest in the name that saves and conquers, the name of Jesus the One true God.
Truth that Gives
I remember struggling to live fully in happiness. My journey on finding joy in the now. I was playful which on surface level might portray happiness. However, I lived with fear, doubt, and despair. I placed my hope and joy on attaining goals. Which I thought would satisfy my inmost being. But our infinite desire can only be satisfied by God. Since we were made in his image and likeness. Just as a fish in unable to survive when taken out of water, so do men when separated from God. Which is why we are overburdened with the weight of the world. Incessant toil yet not fulfilled. Never truly happy or content.
One thing I realized at least in my journey is that ignorance is bliss. I was blind, naked, and in the dark. Believed in God, but placed my hope in the world. Definitely can’t serve 2 masters at a time. So, it’s either a life led by the Spirit or by flesh. Reverence of God or slave to sin. And the former is the truth of life. Full of wisdom and light. John 8:31-32, “Jesus said, “If you hold on to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free”. The truth applies to every bit of life. A life of truth rejects doubt. Thus, if you follow the example of Jesus, you will flourish in all you do and not stumble. Eternity is in the now. God is in your today. His word sets one free from every stronghold and walks you in the path of light.
Free joy of Life
Who doesn’t love freedom? I sure do! I always seeked freedom to do whatever I wanted. Free from law and regulations. Yet, I was captive to the law of sin. Captive to my struggles. And was subconsciously held captive by my own desires. Which robbed me of peace and happiness. Therefore, I write in hope to share of the Light of the world. The true Light that gives life with abundance of heart. One that cannot be hidden and very much liberates. John 10:10 “A thief has only one thing in mind- he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect- life in its fullness until you overflow!” Finding joy in the world comes with struggles and heartache. But through faith in Christ, we approach God freely with confidence.
For in him, our joy is complete. Whoever comes to him will not perish but have everlasting life. He lights up your inmost being. As I write, I can’t fully express the depth of his love, kindness, and compassion. But one thing I know is that there is beauty in relationship with God. Living with joy that erupts. I’ve seen the world, absolutely incomparable. You have to taste and truly see that the Lord is good. He is the only way to fullness of heart. The world has so much distraction that easily entangles. Hindering one from finding true joy. But with God, all things are possible. His grace is uncapped and it’s his pure nature to love. The unfailing love of God! I hope you desire to walk your life on earth in the light. I pray for peace and joy in all you do. Remain Blessed 🙏🏾
